Veď Pán je Duch, a kde Duch Pánov, tam sloboda. (2. Korinťanom 3,17)

Reflection of September Conference in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia

There were two messages that resounded at the Christian Conference last weekend.

The first one was the call to holiness. As we live in the last phase of the Church history and believe the Lord is coming back soon, we see that the reality of “Laodicean church” – the last of the seven churches mentioned in the 2nd and the 3rd chapter of the Book of Revelation – is strongly present in the Church nowadays.

The Lord is standing at the door and Laodicean church is lukewarm thinking of itself as rich and not needing anything. The Lord says that truth is different and the church is spiritually “wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked” (Rev 3:17). He strongly urges us to buy the “gold refined by fire” from Him, which represents the faith. We should also buy “white garments”, which represents the sanctification and righteous deeds of believers, and “eye salve”, which is the revelation and anointing of the Holy Spirit. The church must return to unequivocal adherence to the Word. There is no place for secular humanism in biblical Christianity. We all need to set our hearts on fire again for radical following of Jesus and His words. He instructs the Laodicean church to be zealous and repent (Rev 3:19).

The second message was about evangelism in the power of the Holy Spirit as the main task of present Church. We can not achieve the goal of winning souls for Christ without being empowered by the Holy Spirit. The pentecostal experience goes hand in hand with a revival and preaching the Gospel in authority and power of God.

This conference was a great opportunity to revive our spiritual lives and to apply all corrections needed. Let us be the doers of the Word we had heard.

Buď svätý a plný Ducha

Dojmy zo septembrovej konferencie v Banskej Bystrici

Letničná skúsenosť ide ruka v ruke s prebudením a kázaním evanjelia v autorite a moci Božej.

Táto konferencia bola skvelou príležitosťou na občerstvenie nášho duchovného života a uskutočnenie potrebných korekcií. Buďme činiteľmi Slova, ktoré sme počuli.
